I am a bit of a hotel geek, I love discovering magic new places, and on my trip to London this time I was booked in at St Martins lane. I had no idea of this hotel, but checking in I soon realised, I`ve totally been drunk in this hotel bar before!! Haha, anyways, this is a part of Morgans Hotel group. Not the place to go if you like 300 year old furniture and “charm”, but If you prefer your drinks in a light designed bar and your scented candles in the smell of Cannabis, this could be your place.

I blogged about this concept in april 2011 already  when I stayed at the Sanderson (here), a hotel splurge back when I wanted to (needed to) treat myself to the BEST spa and stay the city could offer. I`m so glad to discover that their design and concept is still sooo VERY chic and fab. Everything is SO great here, even the chairs have heels, and the stools come in gold. Also, they do a perfect lunch at Asia De Cuba, and… If I recall correctly, drinks that will knock you out, in the light bar.. It`s all just to chic and sexy to describe.

Off to London and leaving my gadgets behind (no joke!)

Marc Jacobs for Diet Coke

Hi angels, hope you had a lovely weekend. I just finished packing thanks to a supporting BF who was willing to sacrifice his beautysleep to assist. Thank you darling, there would be NO London outfits without ya. I always do last minute packing. I seriously need to get my act together! And let me tell you, nothing freezes up your ability to pack more then knowing that Marc Jacobs himself is gonna see your outfit and love/hate on it! Yes, I`m on my way to London for the Marc Jacobs for Diet Coke colab. launch tomorrow +I`m gonna meet up with Cathrine as well, she´s is going on a holiday, but totally random; is catching the same flight out as me, so this should be awesome.

The Travel Challenges

On this trip to London I have some challenges laid out for myself 1. Travel with hand luggage ONLY!  It`s better for the environment, for the time scheduele, for everything. (But for a fashionista, it`s basically the same thing as extrem sports like skydiving or motorboat racing. I`m sure all of you know that already though.). 2. Sit at the same table as Marc Jacobs without totally freezing up, laugh nervously or die. And 3. Leave my mac book and other gadgets behind, just bringing a good real life hardcover book instead. Yes I said it, and with the risk of sounding a hundred years old, you probably know why girls. Nothing ruins a big city trip like always having to check your email or always having to update some social media. Not sure I know what I`m getting myself into here, but wish me luck! Something just tells me I`m gonna need it.

Illustrations from Emmeselleshop on my livingroom floors today

I dont know, I haven`t heard anything, is there maybe anyone who have noticed the coolest change in my blog like EVER?! I teamed up with Emmeselle and she illustrated the prettiest most personal menu for me, as you can see in my sidebar. This girl is so talented, so I was thrilled when she said yes do contribute to the blog. Over the years design and having a blog that stands out have becomed more and more important to me. Offcourse it´s hard to find that balance when you live off being a blogger and need to have these huge adds on your site every day, like a common magazine, but I really try to make the best off it. What do you think off the change?

Win your own posters

emmeselle_exclusive

Cool Mona also did a little project with this, where I was the first one to get my own letter in the Emmeselle Exclusive series. It`s the U in my contact menu, check it out here. The details up close is really super pretty, on the tickest canvas-textured paper. This is a whole series of letters, so you can easily order your own.

No, to the fun part! You can win your own Emmeselle print +a poster with your own typography letter. Just go to the shop here, choose which one gives you that tingly feeling, and leave a comment here on the blog. I´m gonna find some wall space somewhere around here and get mine up on the walls where they belong. So can you!

Good luck!

cheeseburgers followed by casual contemplating

YES I am wearing a hoodie, it happens from time to time, believe it or not. But this day has been SO good to me and SO bad, and now I am SO tired! I woke up with the sun shining into my room, and was instantly happier then what I`ve been in a long time. Finally I`ve gotten out of the office space to see my friends and hang out in Bergen again, enjoying a cheseburger and checking out the spring in Bergen. Even though the day ended in complete shitt it felt good to do something. Why is life so hard sometimes, and why cant we just stop thinking about every single thing and just be happy instead? I ended up at Barfot with a friend contemplating this, but we got n-o-w-h-e-r-e as usual. (Note to self; When you`re contemplating about overthinking life in general you should just throw in the towel and order shots, like, a lot of em`).  So much have happened the last couple of weeks, I haven´t found any time to update you guys on any of it. Neither have I now. Since I spent all day out with friends I now have to spend all night typing them emails and looking over different contracts before meetings tomorrow. Luckily for me It`s bananas with work these days so I don`t have much time to worry about the personal stuff.  I`m planning next week in London and Oslo. Right now I just want to focus on champagne lunches, great shoes, work, trips and the fact that I am meeting Marc Jacobs next week! “you can’t get away from yourself by moving from one place to another.” Ernest Hemingway you just watch me..

I found these salt and pepper shakers from David Shrigley in Milan and they easily found their home to Bergen with me. The “Want some cocaine on them eggs?” Humour is right up my alley to get me out of a morning crank. Shame on me. I know.

Ps 1: I love that my first official interior post is this drug-related haha. I will do something sweeter for the next one, maybe with some kittens, or even better, unicorns!

Ps 2: David Shrigley`s stuff is genius.

Im not much of a bag girl. This is me working on that, because I really see that bags do a lot for an outfit, I just like to feel more “on the move” so to speak. So say hi to my new Kzeniya’s structured satchel-inspired shoulder bag. The structure and size is going to be PERFECT for a night out. It will fit the essentials, but unlike a clutch, I´m not gonna loose sight of this baby. Outfit comin`up!

I`m gonna miss this beautiful courtyard in Milan, why does everything Italian have to be so darn chic? This was such a great day too, mostly because I got to wear my new Miu Miu cat eye shades. Such cute sunnies with a old hollywood glamour vibe I`m really loving right now. Maybe that`s what made me go all out with the uber Red Chanel lipstick. A move usually reserved for hollidays and dramatic evenings. I really need to get more experimental on the makeup front, right now I`m such a bore that way. But in the silver snake pattern skirt Im stepping up my game, because this skirt never bores me, it goes with EVERYTHING! By the way this post was NOT a cultural referanse to fifty shades of gray and that kindacrap “literature”. Haha sorry, just had to get it out there!

A life lover`s guide to the chic city of Milan

IMG_9812

In collaboration with Galleriet I took some time out of a busy FW schedule to make a proper Milano guide for my lovely readers. I often find it hard in a new city, where to go to not risk a second of boredom? The good thing about being a fashion blogger is that brands and people do such an amazing job taking care of you, so p.l.e.a.s.e allow me to pass on my Milan does and dont`s..

This is a great city to visit for bringing out your inner diva/dramatic everyday you, put on your finest and go have fun. It is a city with great meaning to me, as we did our first Fashionlove (my store) production here, when I was only 20 we flew here with a big crew and did our videos and photos and so on. I also got to see Venezia and the pretty Valdobbiadene where they do my fav. drink Prosecco. It all felt totally absurd to me, like a whole different world. But, back to Milan shall we?

It seems like everyone here has great taste. All of the big Italian fashion houses have a home here, and they play a big role in the culture and history. D&G has it`s own restaurant called Gold, Armani even has a Hotel! With the price starting on 5000 nok per night, I havent gotten to visit yet, but some day..

To the importance stuff first, Shopping offcourse!! It is a great experience, the stores is pretty in a museum kinda way, and if you wanted to spend 200 000 in a day, you would easaly be inspired to. But there also is a lot of room for the budget fashionista, if you are prepared to run into the tourist crowds. My favorite area is around Via San Spirito, where you find Valentino, Ysl, Giuseppe Zanotti and so on. Milan is where I come to invest in designer items, as you can find things here straight from the runway, that you would not find available in other shops. Also, they have everything, and the feeling of burning that Visa  does not feel so bad surrounded by all these chic amazing Italian women.

Here are some videos we did our first trip to Italy, back then I knew NOTHING of this place.

The Walk n`the talk

Bring sneakers, (yes I said it!) and walk around the city. I like to walk from 10 Corso Como to Via San Marco to the Duomo. It´s half hour walk that gives you a local feel with great houses and local cafees, without running into all the tourists. Put on some classics on spotify, and pretend you`re italian! Smile back to those who smile at you! PS: Strangers actually talk and greet each other in Italy, it`s the nicest thing.

I took a photo of this car on my last walk, as I fell in-love with it instantly.

(These pics Fredrik did of me at the Corso Como roof top at the last fashion week, I was so happy wearing all Dolce&Gabbana)

The institution 10 Corso Como

10 Corso Como Café, where my route starts. This is one of the best concept stores in the world, shopping and dining. Founded in 1990 in Milan, Italy, by gallerist and publisher Carla Sozzani. They have a great fashion department, but I come for the gallery, the books and the roof garden. I can spend hours going through books to bring home, it must be the best book shop in the world for those into photography, fashion and poetry. Also, you can enjoy drinks and lunches with the fashion crowd. This is my number 1 in Milan, and I hope it never changes.

The Fashion fantasy of 40 000 square foot

Exclesior (Galleria del Corso 4)  is a store unlike anything else. As you can tell, it is huge, and I am convinced they have some of the best buyers in the world working here. They have just the right candles (byredo), just the right phone cases, just the right books, the right shoes, the right dresses, perfect everything. It is a 40 000 square foot of Fashion fantasy that is a must see. It reminds more of a curated museum then a shop, but still, the shopping here is super casual, and prices range from 100 nok to 50 000 n0k per piece. I love the huge video screens, the music, the superhot employees and all the happy things. They even have my favorite bakery in the whole world, La durèe from Paris. This is also where I went to the Hudson/Georgia May Jagger party last week.

The High end fashion houses area, watch Italians in their natural habitat

Shopping displays around the streets of Via Della Spiga, Via San Spirito and via Gesu. You need a whole day to walk around this amazing area, to watch the Italians in their natural habitat, and enjoy all the luxury surounding you at every corner. Everuthing from the window displays to the afternoon tea here is amazing. Bring your heels and red lipstick, and be prepared to be fab for a day.

Did anyone say cake?

At Via Montenapoleone 8 you will find Pasticceria Cova, opened in 1817. Italy’s oldest patisserie and as Noona Peterson puts it, “a Milan instutition.” In 1817 a soldier by the name of Anotnio Cova opened a caffè which became a popular gathering spot for Milan’s intellectuals, artists, politicians, and upper-class citizens . Here you will find all the cakes you can dream of, but if you come at tea time, be prepared for the line… Well worth it though!

House of Armani

Armani Cafe (Via Crocerossa 2) is Crowded of tourists because of the huge ARMANI signs, but a good place to relax if you find yourself in the area. Great food, and a bookshop you can shop in for hours. This is where I bought my presents last time, to bring home to inspire my inspirering friends.

At via Monte di Pietà you will find Skitsch, for the interior geek. SKITSCH is an Italian design innovative company with a new way of doing design, not a style, but the many expressions of contemporary creativity guaranteed by the signing of established and emerging designers.

Piazza Del Duomo

The main part of Milan, the first place hit by tourist, because of the golden triangle of shopping, and the Big Duomo. I almost started crying my first time visiting the Duomo. It is amazing to think that this building is man made. It`s grand beauty can not be explained, so just go see it for yourself! This Gothic cathedral is the largest Cathedral in Italy boasting 135 spires and 3,400 statues. It was commissioned in 1386 by Gian Galeazzo Visconti but took around 500 years to complete, only being finished in the 1880s. “A very world of solid weight, and yet it seems in the soft moonlight only a fairy delusion of frostwork that might vanish with a breath!” Mark Twain about the Duomo.

IMG_4528

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II

The Grand Shopping arcade next to the Duomo is a must to check out, for the huge LV store, and also their Ice cream shops. In the streets behind you will find a good mix of designer shops and budget chains like Zara and H&M.

Hope to see you again soon Italy I <3 you so much. XX

Italy Throwback/2010

Venice, Milan and Valdobbiadene, Treviso

I stumbled over these pics from my first trip to Italy in 2010, with my old shop Fashionlove. I really wanted to share some of them before I post my new Milan guide tomorrow. For me it is fun to see how my style has changed, and also, my style of photography and how important is has become to me compared to before. Haha, dont judge, I was only like 19 and overwhelmed by organizing this trip with these amazing peoples. It was the start of something great, and I am so thankfull to everyone who helped me do cool stuff over the years. People inspire you or drain you, pick them wisely. So I did.

When you just want more…

It was such a stormy day, but Fredrik managed to get these pics of me the last day of my trip to NYC with British Airways and Christina. It`s always nice to be back in the city, to fill my head with inspiration and dreams for the new year. I keep coming back here, but this was my first time flying Club class. Hopefully not my last, because now I`m hooked. The chill out area with spa and so on at their terminal 5 in Heathrow, the airplane beds, the food and the priority through all sorts off airport lines really made for a comfy flight over to NYC. The best so far. I just want more! Also, thanks to Yotel for taking such good care of us! (sponsored)

weekend playlist

bilde

I`ve finally managed to get some work done, the Milan guide will be published on monday so tune in then for my best tips to one of the greatest cityes in Europe. Now, I made this playlist for the weekend, and really wanted to share it with you. Hope you enjoy. I have to hit the shower and start life outside these walls. We are going to see one my favorite books on the movie screen later, Victoria by Knut Hamsun. I didn`t have time to go to the premiere in Oslo on tuesday, even though I really wanted to. So, tonight it is. I am probably going to hate it, or cry way too much. Wishing you all the best weekend, XX.

The same shitt always happens; travel sadness. It`s not so much the sad about not travel part, but coming home always leaves some empty space in your head for more thinking than normal. Our soul is such a sneaky bastard. One moment you`re happy and the next, it seems like you will never feel happiness jumping up and down inside you again. I know you know what I mean. It will always pass. In a week, maybe even a minute. Most of us have what feels like a lifetime of hiding things done and thoughts had behind us, sometimes it stops you from just getting on with the everyday stuff. I wonder if depressed days feel more normal and calming as you get older, or if it gets more like a constant state of mind, in a sad kinda way. I guess it all depends on the person.

My love for Clueless as young was an endless affair. I owned 1 dress, Clueless on tv had 200, so.. I couldn´t help to watch! It would be stupid to say my love for fashion started with Clueless, but my love for the material sure did haha. So I thought I had outgrown Wildfox, but then they released their new Clueless inspired lookbook and I LOVE it! Hello 1996!
